This week's story is from Kenton in Texas who writes….
Hey Kix,
I met my wife in 1973 when I was just 9 years old. She moved in two houses down from mine, and the first time I saw her, I knew I was in love! We became best friends and were always together – like two peas in a pod! I used to pray at night that she would one day be my girlfriend, but I never told her how I felt because she was the cute new girl and I was the chubby best friend.
Anyway, she moved away three and half years later, and my world was crushed! The only good thing was she wound up living near my grandmother, so we kept in touch and I would see her from time to time when we went to my grandma’s place. Eventually, life went on and we both grew up and married other people.
Fast forward to January, 2010… I had moved to Texas and set up a Facebook account. And guess who I got a message from right away??!! Well, we started talking and found out we were both divorced but were 1200 miles apart! We instantly picked up right where we left off, and I soon realized, I had compared every girl I had ever dated to my memories of her and I knew I was still in love with her! So, we talked, we texted and we said we would meet up as soon as we could!
When we finally met, and she got out of her car, I knew I was in trouble! We hugged and it was just like I was 9 again. We spent the entire week together and I finally told her "I've always loved you". And soon after, she told me she felt the same! We finally got married May 5th of 2012, and I know without a doubt, prayers really do come true!
We have never been happier!
