Dear Kix,
I met my special someone Joel at my birthday party when he came as a "plus one" with a buddy! The whole night he was staring at me like a crazy man, so I paid him no attention… until his friend told me that Joel was staring because he thought I was pretty. He really wanted me to go over and say hi, but I was hesitant. I wasn't looking for a relationship and I had my daughter with me, but I figured a simple hello couldn’t hurt. So, I went over and said hello, but he immediately asked, "How old is he?" The problem being that I had a daughter not a son, so I walked away totally insulted!
Months passed and I had forgotten all about Joel until I ran into his friend who said that Joel had been asking him for my phone number. So, I passed it along, but after two weeks of not hearing from him, I got his number and intended on calling and yelling at him! But, when he answered, we wound up talking for hours like we had been lifelong friends.
We started dating shortly thereafter and now, three years later, we are getting married in March! So, Kix, please wish us luck! I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with him and I couldn’t wait to share our funny story with you!
