Welcome to The Back Forty where we highlight artists who might walk the line outside of the country chart with their music.
Rosanne Cash is no stranger to exploring and that fact is on display in full force with her new album The River & The Thread. The project takes Rosanne on a musical journey through her family's Southern roots in Memphis and Arkansas and also includes the distinctive sounds of the Mississippi Delta and Gulf Coast. As Rosanne shares in this edition of The Back Forty, the inspiration behind the album came from recent trips to the region as she helped with fundraising concerts in order to restore her father's childhood home, reconnected with loved ones and made new acquaintances.
