This week's question is from Dee who writes…
Kix,
I have been listening to ACC since I was young. I was wondering what song spent the most weeks at number one since the inception of ACC back in the 1970s?
Thanks, Kix!
Signed,
Dee

Kix's Response:
Well, that's a good question, Dee. American Country Countdown used to be based on the Billboard chart. For the past few years though, our countdown has been based on the Mediabase chart. Those charts are very similar, but for the sake of answering your question, let's just stick with the Billboard chart.
So, in 1999, the group Lonestar had a little song called "Amazed" which entered the chart in July and it would go on to spend 8 weeks at number 1. Then, in 2003, Alan Jackson and Jimmy Buffett also spent 8 weeks at the top with "It's Five O'Clock Somewhere." But, that record was shattered in 2012. Florida Georgia Line spent a combined 24 weeks at the top with "Cruise." That was the longest run at number one in Billboard's 69-year history. I hope this answers your question, Dee!
