This week's question is from Kiki in Montana who writes…
Dear Kix,
My husband and I have a long distance relationship because he’s in baseball. I was just wondering if you and your lovely wife Barbara have any tips on keeping a relationship strong when one half of you is always on the road… and all the issues that that can cause?
Thanks so much,
Kiki

Kix's Response:
Well, that’s an interesting question – and, of course, every relationship is different and I don’t pretend to be a marriage counselor…
Barbara and I have always been very independent individuals. Barbara is the current president of the National Cutting Horse Association, something she’s been very involved in throughout my touring career. We’ve enjoyed a lot of fun events in the music business, but I’ve also enjoyed a lot of events with her in the horse business where I’m know as “Barbara’s husband.”
I think the point is to “be your own girl.” Your husband will respect you for it, and you won’t spend all your time waiting for him to come home, and of course, when you guys are together, make the most of it! Those are the memories that keep the fire burning ‘til the next time you’re together.
Love is the key… Good luck to you guys!
