This is where YOU tell us YOUR love stories! You know, like how you met your honey… how you found true love after all this time… or maybe even how you finally got back together with the one that got away. You get the idea – whatever your "happily ever after" is, we wanna hear it!!!
This week’s story is from Gary in Texas who writes…
Dear Kix,
I met my wife while I was stationed in the Air Force on a mountaintop in Southern Italy. She came up to the site with her cousin and I saw her, but I was too shy to say anything.
Four months passed and I finally got a chance to meet her. We had a great time and I knew, instantly, she was THE lady for me! Sure enough, we ended up getting married two months later, and I had no idea that love would inspire me to learn Italian and so fast.
We hit a rough patch in our marriage when my wife was diagnosed with Stage 2 breast cancer. It was a very aggressive cancer and she had to have a double mastectomy with numerous surgeries. I told her that I would never let her go and that I’d stand by her through all the chemo, which lasted for 16 months. And, as of today, she has made it four years cancer free!
You see, to us, marriage means staying together no matter what… and even though this was such a difficult time, it strengthened our love for one another even more.
We have been married for 33 years now and we have three children, along with a granddaughter and a grandson.
Like I always tell everyone, when you have the feeling that she is the right one, she is the right one!!!!!!!!! Maria is the love of my life!
Thanks for letting me share our story!
Signed,
Gary

Kix's Response:
That’s awesome, Gary.
I like to think everyone has a love that was meant for always. My grandparents were my inspiration, and my guess is that your story will inspire someone out there that may be going through a tough patch. Good for you and your honey!
