Our Kidde Hero of the Week spotlights Morrissie's Mom and stepfather Ben.
Morrisie emailed us with kind of a double Hero story and we wanted to share it with you:
Dear Kix,
My mother is my hero. My parents split when I was seven, and my mother went from not having a very good life to supporting four kids on her own. She went to school and got her CNA license and then started working night shifts. And, even though she was exhausted, she always took the time to kiss us good morning and take us to our various daycares and schools.
Now, my mom has a great job with a home health care business, and we are all excited to meet our new little sister Sophia sometime this June.
I would also like to thank Ben for being such a great stepdad to us! I want him to know that he is my real daddy and how much I appreciate all of his hard work and all of the support he’s given my mom. He’s helped her and us get where we are at today. Love you both, Mom and Benny!

This is unfortunately a fairly common story of kids and moms getting left alone, but good things happen when good people step up and play stronger than the hand that’s dealt them!
