Are You Gonna Kiss Me or Not? – Sheila and Gary’s Story

This is where YOU tell us YOUR love stories!  You know, like how you met your honey… how you found true love after all this time… or maybe even how you finally got back together with the one that got away.  You get the idea – whatever your "happily ever after" is, we wanna hear it!!!

This week’s story is from Sheila and Gary who write…

Hey, Kix!

My husband and I met at our Washington Air National Guard unit shortly after I joined.  He was married at the time and I was a single parent.  Over the course of the next three and a half years, we had friendly but impersonal contact.

In late 1996, I moved to Texas for a job but soon after, I took my son on vacation back to Washington… and, as luck would have it, I ran into my now husband! It turns out that his wife had left him, and, since I had been in a similar situation, I suggested that we should get together and "cry in our beer."

The next night was a Saturday and our very first date.  We went on a date every evening until that next Thursday when he proposed! I said yes, and I immediately went back to Texas, quit my job, and moved back to Washington where we were married 4 months later.

I like to point out that our marriage probably shouldn't have worked, since our dating timeline wasn't much better than a "bar pickup."  But, in October, we will celebrate 18 years of marriage!!!  I love him so much and we are so good to each other…

Thanks for sharing our love story, Kix!

Signed,
Sheila and Gary

Kix's Response:

Last I heard, I don’t think there’s a formula for true love, Sheila and Gary – you guys hang in there and enjoy!

It looks like maybe the second time's a charm!
