Our Kidde Hero of the Week spotlights Paula Clark.
This week, Josie emailed us with her nomination and we wanted to share it with you:
Dear Mr. Kix,
My nominee for the Hero of the Week is long overdue. I nominate a very important person from my childhood, a teacher that I had named Paula Clark. This particular teacher I had twice while attending Bethany Elementary School in the state of Illinois.
The reasons for this nomination are because of what she did for me. First off, while I was recovering from an injury, Mrs. Clark took time to help me re-learn how to go up and down the many stairs that led to and from our classroom, cafeteria and other places around school.
Secondly, when my mother passed away, just before my 14th birthday, Mrs. Clark took the time from her job of teaching other children to attend the funeral. Seeing the one teacher that I felt was a major part of my education at my mother's funeral was a very special thing to me. I just wish I could have thanked her.
As I write this, I can't help but think of how thankful I am to this wonderful educator for all that she did for me and others that she has taught. Teachers seem to always be under-appreciated and ones like Mrs. Clark are a rarity!

Well, I’m not sure why its too late to tell Mrs. Clark how you feel, if she’s still with us you should track her down. Its never too late if she is, and if not, we just take that memory and try and make sure we pay it forward. I know how you feel…we all have special people in our lives we wish we’d said more to. Well, Mrs. Clark, wherever you are, you’re Josie’s hero and I think it’s a fine tribute.
