This week's question is from Evelyn who emailed us and asked…
Hey Kix,
My daughter Rebecca is getting married next fall and her favorite singer is Carrie Underwood. I know it’s a long shot and probably way too expensive, but I wondered how someone goes about getting an artist to play at their wedding. And, generally, how much would something like that cost?
Thanks Kix!
Signed,
Evelyn

Kix's Response:
Well, you’re right, Evelyn, that would be very expensive. I’m not her agent, but I’m guessing if she was interested, it would probably take a couple of commas, but honestly, I’m not familiar with her doing anything like that.
Now, a lot of artists do special events for nothing, but it generally involves an emotional commitment – a Make-a-Wish kid's birthday party or maybe a high school graduation in someone’s hometown… Obviously, really popular artists get a lot of request like this and the big problem is – it’s hard to do something for one person and tell the next one no.
But, if you really want Carrie to play at your daughter's wedding – heck don’t ask me – write a letter. And, good luck!!! Make sure I get invited, too!
Thanks for your question, Evelyn!
