Our Kidde Hero of the Week spotlights Cleaning for a Reason.

Recently, Kix found this story on People Magazine's website and wanted to share it!

Debbie Sardone of Flower Mound, Texas, created a nationwide nonprofit called Cleaning for a Reason. The organization provides free housecleaning services to women battling cancer.

It all started after Debbie, the owner of Buckets & Bows Maid Service, answered a call from a woman who was interested in hiring a housecleaning service. But, the woman couldn’t afford to have her house cleaned due to her expensive cancer treatments and abruptly hung up. Debbie felt terrible and was immediately inspired to help in any way she could.  She decided she wanted to do something to help these women to feel more normal and to give them one less thing to worry about.

Since the organization was founded in 2006, more than 1,100 maid services across the nation and in Canada have signed up to dedicate their time to women in need. For more information about Cleaning for a Reason and how you can support the cause, check out their website here.

Kix's Response:

I love that… Way to step up, Debbie – that’s what I call doing your part and making the world a better place. Thank you!
