Are You Gonna Kiss Me or Not? – Gene and Marlene’s Story

This is where YOU tell us YOUR love stories!  You know, like how you met your honey… how you found true love after all this time… or maybe even how you finally got back together with the one that got away.  You get the idea – whatever your "happily ever after" is, we wanna hear it!!!

This week’s story is from Peggy who sent us an email…

Dear Kix,

On October 27th, my family celebrated our parents’ 60th wedding anniversary!

Gene and Marlene were two young kids from a small town in Mechanic Falls, Maine. They fell in love as classmates and have never wavered since. They left that little town for Biloxi, Mississippi, newly married, expecting my oldest brother and heading to the Air Force. They were brave to leave their family and set out on their own.

Through the years, they have exemplified their vows for richer or poorer in sickness and health. They had many ups and downs. But, always were true role models of unconditional love, compassion and family values.

Now, my two brothers, sister and myself have given back 12 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. We celebrated their anniversary with the deepest gratitude for showing us what true love is.

My dad is a lifelong listener of country music and your songs. Thank you for providing this venue for telling my mom and dad’s true love story.

Signed,
Peggy

Kix's Response:

Thanks, Peggy – love hearing this! Thank goodness there are still some folks out there who hang tough through thick and thin, to show us, it can be done. My grandparents were like that, too. Good stuff!
