Dear Kix,
My mom has always been my role model and my hero. She continues to show me that when times get tough, you just grit your teeth and keep on pushing.
Despite everything she does for me and my family, she somehow still finds time to help out in the community. She recently started a mission called Gulf Breeze Will Do that awards membership-funded grants to organizations that seek to help and enhance our community.
She is what I strive to be like when I grow up. Whether it's in the family or in the community she always does what she thinks is best for others. She is as selfless as you can be – a true hero in my eyes!

It’s good to get so many responses from people honoring their parents…
It all starts at home – let’s try and continue that good role model thing, moms and dads.
And, I’d like to give a shout out to all our military listening on American Forces Network who got to spend the long holiday in beautiful Afghanistan. I made a tour over there one year at Christmas with Robin Williams and some other folks and we can’t ever forget all the family times they’ve sacrificed on our behalf.
