Dear Kix,
I met my boyfriend Steve working in a hayfield when I was 16 years old. Even though he was seven years older than me, I had the biggest crush on him and I never thought he would ever feel the same way.
After I started college, Steve and I become close friends. He would come over to enjoy some beers with my family by a fire and we would go on motorcycle rides together. I continued to have those feelings for him through the years but I was always too scared to tell him how I felt.
One night, Steve and I went for a ride in his truck through some potato and corn fields in town and we ended up stopping in the corn field on his grandfather's land. We were listening to the local country station and he came up with the idea of getting out of the truck to dance. As we were dancing Steve leaned in and gave me kiss under the stars. It is the moment I will never forget.
We have been together for almost six months now and cannot be any happier. Even though it took us six years to start a relationship, I don't regret the time we had as friends because I think it made us closer. I can honestly say I fell in love with my best friend.
