Are You Gonna Kiss Me or Not? – Lexie’s Story

This is where YOU tell us YOUR love stories!  You know, like how you met your honey… how you found true love after all this time… or maybe even how you finally got back together with the one that got away.  You get the idea – whatever your "happily ever after" is, we wanna hear it!!!

This week’s story is from Lexie who writes…

Hey Kix,

My “Are You Gonna Kiss Me or Not Story” began during my first year of college. A friend of mine was having a bunch of people over for games and invited me to join. As soon as I got to the house, I saw Scott in the doorway with a huge smile on his face. What I didn’t know was this party was actually a going-away party for Scott who was enlisted in the Marine Corps and was leaving for boot camp in less than a week.

Scott and I didn’t say much to each other that night other than how much we loved country music. But, that’s all it took. The next day he asked to take me out on a date. After spending about eight hours with this man, I knew that he would forever change my life. I had three short days with him before he left for boot camp.

After he left, our only means of communication was through letters. Then, after he graduated, he came home for 24 days and we made the absolute most of every minute we had together. A few days before he left again, he asked my dad if he could propose to me when he came back home.

We were apart for another three months and faced a lot of heartache and disappointment. But, when he finally came home for good, we began to start our life together.

He officially proposed in October and we are now married with a baby on the way!  Scott makes me the happiest I’ve ever been, and I knew that we were always meant to be together. Scott gave me reason to believe in love at first sight because really that’s exactly what it was. Not everything was easy, but it was definitely worth it and I am so thankful I trusted my heart and fell in love with a Marine.

Sincerely,
Lexie

Kix's Response:

Good one, Lexie – and you can bet it’s never “always” going to be easy, but that’s what makes the good stuff, the good stuff. I'm glad you got your man back – and Scott, thanks for your service!!!
