This is where YOU tell us YOUR love stories! You know, like how you met your honey… how you found true love after all this time… or maybe even how you finally got back together with the one that got away. You get the idea – whatever your "happily ever after" is, we wanna hear it!!!
This week’s story comes from Terri who writes…
Dear Kix,
My love story occurred about eight years ago even though my husband David and I had been married for 12 years!
You see, we were in a rut. We had three kids between the ages of two and seven and had gotten caught up in the responsibilities of life. We were physically and emotionally exhausted day in and day out.
It had been a long time since we’d had a much needed “date night,” and David knew that I was a big Josh Turner fan, so he agreed to take me to one of his concerts. This would be the first concert that he ever attended, and a big deal since David was more of a homebody.
On the day of the concert there was a horrible thunderstorm, but we still went. After we parked, we had to walk a ways to get to the fairgrounds and when we got there, we were starving and soaking wet. We sat huddled together for several hours waiting for the rain to end. Finally, at nearly 11PM, Jo Dee Messina went on and then Josh.
But, guess what? It was one of the best days of my life! We totally reconnected!!! We spent very little time talking about our daily lives and the kids, and instead talked about ourselves and our dreams. I had expected David to complain and insist that we go home because of all the rain. Instead, we huddled together, snuck an occasional kiss, told secrets, and had lots of laughs.
We’ll be celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary this summer. Our kids are growing and still keep us busy. When life gets to be too much, I remember David’s first concert and how on that evening we fell in love all over again.
Life can get crazy and it’s important to remember what brought you together in the first place!
Thanks, Kix!
Signed,
Terri

Kix's Response:
Terri – this is one of the best love stories we’ve gotten!
I am glad you two found that moment that started the clock again, when it sounds like time might have been running out… Sometimes, as partners, we have to get out of our comfort zone and take a look at what the other person wants to do and it sounds like your husband took that leap of faith just in time.
Congrats on finding a way!!!
