Are You Gonna Kiss Me or Not? – Wes’ Story

This is where YOU tell us YOUR love stories!  You know, like how you met your honey… how you found true love after all this time… or maybe even how you finally got back together with the one that got away.  You get the idea – whatever your "happily ever after" is, we wanna hear it!!!

This week’s story comes from Wes who writes…

Hey Kix,

I'm Wes from your hometown of Shreveport. My love story started 30 years ago!  I was 17 and in a high school math class day-dreaming. Then, this angelic face pops in the door way calling for her friend. I was immediately hooked and even had my schedule reworked to have a class with her. But, I was a hooligan and she was a special angel. Eventually, though, I won her over, and I think it was actually thanks to my wild ways!

On our first date, I was too scared to touch her. I took her home and when we were parked in her driveway she looked at me and asked, "You gonna kiss me or not?" I had a feeling this was the beginning of the rest of my life.

Now, we’ve been together 30 years, married for 22 and have a beautiful and intelligent 18 year-old daughter. My wife saved my life and coped with my off-the-wall cowboy ways.

Sadly, in October of last year, my angel was diagnosed with cancer. We went straight to chemotherapy. It's been very rough, but by the GREAT GRACE OF GOD she's still with me!  And, at the last scan, the cancer had shrunk! I thank God every second I have with her. I love her more than life!

My angel Stephanie will always have my whole heart.

Thanks, Kix!

All the best,
Wes

Kix's Response:

Well, good story, Wes. My wife kind of pulled me out of the gutter, too – nothing stronger than a good woman and it sounds like she’s up for the fight ahead. You two hang in there and let us know how she’s doing.
