Dear Kix,
I would like to nominate my son's teacher from last year. She is a 5th grade teacher at William E. Dever School.
There are no words to explain or express my gratitude for all that she has done. She has gone out of her way to help my son. He was experiencing emotional issues and she, on her own time, found resources for my son whether it was therapeutic, tutoring or just regular hugs…
She helps each kid know that he or she is special and important. She is a teacher that shows up to teach and influence our children; she doesn’t just show up because it’s a job! She’s the greatest teacher ever, and her name is Mandy Guzman!

God bless all you teachers out there who really care – you know who you are. I think most all of us have had some teacher in our lives who took the extra time to make us feel special and make us want to learn. That’s more than just passing out the work sheets – that really taking the time to make a difference. It takes someone besides our parents to really make us feel special… Good letter, Tabatha – thank you!
