Dear Mr. Brooks,
I tune into you guys every week. I love hearing the music and the “Are You Gonna Kiss Me or Not?” stories. I’ve always wondered what your love story is… like, how did you meet your wife?

Well, Jeff, it was 34 years ago this August 1st that Barb and I got married, but we actually met at a party up in Maine that was at the house of a girl I was dating at the time! But, when Barbara walked in that room, I thought, “Wow, she’s way out of my league,” but I had to try! So, I came up with my best pick-up line, walked up to her as cool I could and said, “Hey, I’m Kix Brooks. What’s your name?”
I guess something must be wrong with her because she said, “I’m Barbara,” and we spent the rest of the night talking and one thing led to another… And, don’t worry about the other girl – I don’t think she liked me that much anyway!
