This is where YOU tell us YOUR love stories! You know, like how you met your honey… how you found true love after all this time… or maybe even how you finally got back together with the one that got away. You get the idea – whatever your “happily ever after” is, we wanna hear it!!!
This week’s story comes from Brad who writes…
Dear Kix,
I left for the Army in January 1975 and returned that June where I was assigned to Fort Knox, KY. One day, I decided to stop in at McDonald’s and grab something to eat. There was the cutest girl working the cash register. My meal order went something like this: “I would like two Quarter Pounders with cheese, a small fry, a vanilla shake and YOU to go?” The room lit up with the smile on her face. We hit it off and started to spend all of our time together.
Two weeks later, we drove to Springfield, TN, with her best friend and her fiancée where we had a double wedding at the Justice of the Peace!
Like any marriage there have been ups and downs, but we have two beautiful children and three grandchildren. She took care of the kids while I was deployed around the world. We spent a total of seven years apart during the 22 years I spent in the Army – no easy task, but she is a strong woman.
This coming August 11th will mark our 40th anniversary.
Mitzi, I love you, now and forever!
Thanks, Kix!
Signed,
Brad
