This is where YOU tell us YOUR love stories! You know, like how you met your honey… how you found true love after all this time… or maybe even how you finally got back together with the one that got away. You get the idea – whatever your “happily ever after” is, we wanna hear it!!!
This week’s story comes from Laura who writes…
Dear Kix,
Our story is multi-generational. My grandfather didn’t care for the boy my mom was seeing, so he called a family member and asked for help so that he could introduce her to a “decent” young man. So, on July 4, 1964, my parents went on a blind date. They married less than a year later and recently celebrated 50 years. My brother, sister and I have been blessed to see the perfect example of how love, marriage and family should be.
Move ahead to 1988. I had just graduated from college. My mom was serving as treasurer for our city and kept telling me about this great guy that worked for the Public Works Department. Well, I, admittedly, have a bit of a stubborn streak and wouldn’t even consider it. But, later that year, the city held a picnic for the office staff and their families. It was that night I met the love of my life. My mom was right and the guy was AMAZING! Barry and I married two years later and are now celebrating 25 years together!
I guess you could say our story proves you should always listen to your parents.
Sincerely,
Laura

Kix’s Response:
Great story, Laura! Well, I’m not saying they or we are always right, but every now and then, daddy knows best – listening, kids???
