This week’s Hero nomination comes from Crystal who writes…
Dear Kix,

My hero is Bryan, my ex-husband and father of our four beautiful children!

He battled addiction for 10 years, but finally got clean and was back in a job. He had turned his whole life completely around, then, one day, he was in a horrible car accident on his way to work. His coworker, who was the passenger in the truck, sadly passed away on site of the accident. And Bryan was in a coma for almost two months.

Thankfully, he’s awake now, but he’s having to relearn everything from walking to talking… everyday things most of us take for granted.

Miraculously, he has finally started to speak after nine months!  He’s come such a long way!  I know it has to be so tough for him, but he never gives up! His strength and determination is inspiring.  That’s why he is our children’s hero and mine!

Thanks,

Crystal

Kix’s Response:

Well, Crystal, it sounds like after all you guys have probably gone through, you have a lot of forgiveness in your heart and that’s a good thing. Your encouragement has got to be a big help for Bryan.

And, Bryan, keep pullin’, partner! It sounds like you’re on the road to recovery.
