The ACC staff found this next story on CountryLiving.com

In Pinellas Park, Florida, 83 year-old John Joyce has been mowing lawns for the past 20 years.  But, three months ago, he started walking several miles a day to his customer’s homes, despite his bad knees and arthritis, after the transmission died in his 1994 pick-up truck.

So, longtime customers Robert Norton and his wife Nikki created a GoFundMe page to help John get a new set of wheels. And, in just a few short weeks, people had donated more than $13,000. They were able to get him a new truck, and even had money left over to pay for insurance and plates. Plus, a little extra to put towards a new lawnmower!

Friends and customers gathered at the truck dealership to show their appreciation for John, and with tears in his eyes, he said it was wonderful and couldn’t wait to get back to work!

Robert and Nikki said it felt amazing to do such a good thing for such a good man, and hopefully, people will hear their story and pay it forward!

Kix’s Response:

That’s America, folks! Let’s not forget to take care of each other when we can…
