This is where YOU tell us YOUR love stories! You know, like how you met your honey… how you found true love after all this time… or maybe even how you finally got back together with the one that got away. You get the idea – whatever your “happily ever after” is, we wanna hear it!!!
We found this week’s story on the ABC News website, and it goes like this:
A 93-year-old World War II army veteran from Virginia recently reunited with his first love after over 70 years apart.
Norwood Thomas first met Joyce Durrant outside of London in the spring of 1944 when he was 21 and she was 17. The two dated for a few months and fell madly in love, but sadly, they were separated that June when he was forced to leave for the Battle of Normandy.
After the war, they wrote letters to one another, and Norwood even invited her to come to the States to visit. But, she had just started her nursing training, so she couldn’t.
Norwood says his heart was broken, but he moved on with his life and married another woman. They had an amazing life together but she eventually passed away in 2001. At that time, Thomas started reminiscing about his younger years and his first love.
Well, as it turns out, she was thinking of him, too. She had been living in Australia and had her son contact Norwood after he found him online.
The two hooked up on the phone, and then, they got to have a Skype session and finally saw each other after all these years. Joyce revealed she too had been married but was since divorced, and she had kept a picture of Norwood, for all those years, that she’d say good morning to everyday. Norwood says he always kept her on a pedestal and still has strong feelings for her. The two are now hoping to meet up in person – sooner rather than later!
Now, there’s a GoFundMe campaign that’s been started to help bring these two long lost loves together once and for all! The goal is to raise $20,000 and so far they’re nearing the $4,500 mark.

Norwood, you’ll be down there before you know it! Isn’t that a great story?
