We found this week’s Hero in a story on Yahoo News, and it goes like this:

Carol Suchman has been donating birthday presents to children in the New York City foster care system for the past five years. But, one day, she was inspired to do more. Inspiration struck after she walked past a closed toy store with a “For Rent” sign in the window.

The store was shuttered, but Carol noticed it was still full of toys on the shelves. So, she contacted the owner and offered to buy everything inside.  After some negotiating, she purchased the entire inventory and donated it all to the NYC Department of Homeless Services.  Dozens of volunteers helped her bag up all the toys so that they could be distributed throughout shelters across the city for children before the holidays.

Carol says that she’s glad she’s able to pay her good luck forward. Although she normally gives anonymously, Carol spoke out about her donation to inspire others to be generous this holiday season.

Kix’s Response:

Let’s everyone do a little something this year to make someone’s Christmas more special – How about it?
