One of Kix’s friends sent us this story, and it goes like this:

It’s about a young man named Daundre Ashworth, whose life was forever changed 25 years ago when he was pulled from his burning home at four years old. Now, at 29 years old, Daundre lives in a group home in Minnesota. He has held onto an old photo and article about the man in his scrapbook and always hoped they’d be reunited.

Recently, an employee named Patience Robinson decided she wanted to help him find his hero. So, she went online, and low and behold, Patience and former captain Don Kosen connected! And, as it turns out, he had also saved newspaper clippings from 25 years ago and always wondered what had happened to that little boy he saved.

So, they decided to get everyone together and on a very special day, Daundre and Don finally met! Daundre was waiting with tears in his eyes, along with flowers, drawings, and a thank you for saving his life. Now, both men have new pictures they can keep in their albums, and Daundre says Don is more his hero today, than ever before!

Kix’s Response:

Isn’t that a great story? I think it’s good for the soul to look up people who have made a difference in your life… Go back and tell ‘em so! It certainly worked out for these two.
