This week’s nomination comes from Tracy. She writes…

Dear Kix,

My daughter Kaitlin is a 16 year-old with a heart as big as the great state of Texas.

This Christmas, she flew to New Orleans to spend the holiday with her dad. Her first day there was cool, but her heart was broken because of all the homeless people and animals she had seen in the French Quarter.

Well, back at home, Kaitlin works a part-time job as a hostess at a restaurant, making eight dollars an hour… And, the day before she left for New Orleans, she had gotten her last check, and it was for $60.

So, when she arrived, and after she saw all the homeless people and pets in the Quarter, she took her little paycheck and bought the makings for sandwiches, little candy bars, dog food and lunch bags to feed them.

I am so proud of this young lady, and I am blessed to call my daughter. She always puts others before herself, and therefore is my hero as well as a hero to so many others!

Thanks for reading this, Kix!

Signed,

Tracy

Kix’s Response:

Thank you, Tracy, for sending this in. I like this one. We’ve all got something to give – a lot or a little – just make that part of your life and give it back.
