This week’s nomination comes from Bonnie. She writes…

Dear Kix,

When I was eight, my baby brother, Timmy, was born with a condition that caused special needs and blindness; however, a couple years later, we learned he was able to see things like shadows and lights. Still, growing up, Timmy faced many challenges. But, today, at 19 years-old, I’m happy to report, he’s a high school grad, has a driver’s license, lives in his own apartment, and completely supports himself!  He also plays guitar, entirely by ear!

He may be my younger brother, but I will always look up to him for what he’s accomplished and overcome. I’m so proud of the incredible man he’s turned into, and that’s why he’s my inspiration and will forever be my hero!

Thanks, Kix!

Signed,

Bonnie

Kix’s Response:

Thanks, Bonnie… A lot of great stories of everyday people in our lives are coming in on the Internet, and sometimes we don’t have to look too far to be inspired, do we? I appreciate you sharing this very personal story.
