Steven wanted to honor a very deserving group as our Heroes this week. He writes:
Dear Kix,
In our great country, so many kids are missing a father, a mother, or both… so I would like to nominate the people who fill in as parental role models for young children. These people rarely get credit for the selfless and very important jobs they willingly accept!
In my case, it was my grandfather. He served as a father figure for me when I was young after my parents got divorced. He didn’t have to take on that role, but he did and I’m thankful for that.
As the song goes, I hope I’m at least half the dad that he didn’t have to be. That’s why I nominate these special men and women. The world needs more great examples of adults to help shape our youth!
