It was midnight when frequent songwriting partners Steve McEwan and Craig Wiseman finally took a break from an all-day writing session, and they walked outside. It was the first warm evening of the year, and Craig said, “Man, its summertime!”
From then on, that’s about the only word Craig said he could think about. The next day, he started saying it to a drumbeat and very quickly, a song was born!
Kenny Chesney released the tune in the spring of 2006 as the third single from his The Road and the Radio album.
