This week, we found a great story over at People.com about a woman who took charge in order to get one young athlete to the Olympics in Rio!

A Pennsylvania Uber driver named Ellis picked up a passenger named Liz, and they started talking. Ellis shared that his son Darrell would be representing Team USA in shot put during this summer’s Olympics, but, he couldn’t afford to make the trip. Well, Liz felt terrible that he’d miss such a special occasion, but she had an idea!

Before saying goodbye, Liz and Ellis exchanged contact information, and the next day she started a Go Fund Me Campaign. Well, 48 hours later, she’d raised over 75 hundred dollars, and now Ellis is watching his son compete in Rio!

Both Liz and Ellis believe they were meant to meet that day, and now they’re gonna be life-long friends.

Kix’s Response:

Isn’t that cool?!
