Ronnie Dunn is obviously no stranger to Kix. They spent over 20 years together burning up the road as Brooks & Dunn, collecting many hits and accolades along the way. And, these days, you can find the duo and their good buddy Reba McEntire taking the stage at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace for Reba, Brooks & Dunn: Together in Vegas. But, when the pair aren’t working together, you can find them deeply involved with their own respective projects.
Right now, for Ronnie, that’s his upcoming new album Tattooed Heart, produced by Jay DeMarcus of Rascal Flatts. The first single is “Damn Drunk,” and, yes, that’s Kix you’re hearing on it. But, that’s not the only familiar guest featured… Reba joins Ronnie for a song titled “Still Feels Like Mexico.” You’ll be able to hear all 13 tracks when Tattooed Heart hits stores on October 21st.
In the meantime, we were lucky to have both Ronnie and Jay, wearing his producer hat, in studio to visit with Kix for this episode of Kix TV. Get ready for some good-natured ribbing and some insight into the working relationship between Ronnie and Jay. Plus, find out why the dust mites played such a big role in the making of the record!
