This week, one of our listeners, Debbie Bickford from Maine, sent us a message on Facebook about a special group that she wanted to nominate. Debbie writes:
I love your show, and I think it’s awesome that you nominate a Hero of the Week. I would like to nominate “The Maine Troop Greeters.” They have welcomed over one and a half million troops through Bangor, Maine.
Some of the greeters are there day and night! Fortunately, the flights have slowed down. They are starting a museum at the airport with all of the coins, military patches and items left to us by the troops that have stopped there. Many of the greeters have been doing this since day one and need to be recognized.
Thank you so much for honoring these hard-working everyday people!
