Don Young, the Assistant Chief and Training Officer at the Newberry Township Fire Department, emailed us his nomination for Kidde Hero of the Week. He writes:

Kix,

I would like to nominate Fire Fighter Cody Zinn from Newberry Township Fire Department in Etters, Pennsylvania.

Cody has been a member of our department for over two years now. He has cerebral palsy; however; he has not let that stand in his way of being a truly large asset to our department. His willingness to learn and to help everyone is a true inspiration.  He has helped the department come together closer than we have ever been, and he shows the true meaning of brotherhood!

Cody always has a smile on his face and has an even bigger heart.  His drive and determination help me to try and make myself a better person.

With his support and dedication, our department is lucky to have Cody. He is truly unstoppable.

Thank you,
Don Young
Newberry Township Fire Department
Assistant Chief and Training Officer

Kix’s Response:

Well, thank you so much for sending this in, Don. A lot of times it is those folks who inspire us that make the most difference.
