From the time he arrived on the music scene until now, Brantley Gilbert has evolved into a changed man. In the beginning, the Georgia native had his finger on the pulse of what it truly meant to be in the middle of the party. He not only wrote about it, he lived it! Eventually, things got out of hand, and Brantley realized it was time to make some important changes in his life.
Now, he’s five years sober, happily married and no longer feels the need to prove his “toughness.” With those wild days behind him, Brantley moves forward with his latest album The Devil Don’t Sleep. And, if you love those party songs that Brantley is known for, don’t worry… just take a listen to the album’s first single “The Weekend.” Despite the changes in his life, Brantley still pulls on those memories when he writes.
In this first half of his visit with Kix, Brantley goes into depth about his new outlook and how it’s impacted his music. Plus, he recalls writing Jason Aldean’s hit single “My Kinda Party.”
Look for Brantley’s new album The Devil Don’t Sleep in stores on Friday, January 27th. For more about the album, check out Nash Country Daily.
