Kix TV: Brandy Clark

Country fans came to know the talents of Brandy Clark long before she released her debut album, 12 Stories, back in 2013. The singer-songwriter wrote some pretty big hits like “Better Dig Two” (The Band Perry) and “Mama’s Broken Heart” (Miranda Lambert). Plus, Brandy took home CMA Song of the Year honors in 2014 for Kacey Musgraves’ “Follow Your Arrow” which she co-wrote with Kacey and songwriter Shane McAnally.

These days, Brandy is receiving acclaim from critics and fans alike for her sophomore album Big Day in a Small Town. The project earned Brandy two Grammy nominations for Best Country Album and Best Country Solo Performance for “Love Can Go to Hell.”

In this edition of Kix TV, we take a look back at Brandy’s visit from June 2016. Brandy and Kix discuss life in small town America and the characters who inhabit those communities – a topic that is the centerpiece of Brandy’s album. Plus, the acclaimed singer-songwriter gets emotional as she reflects on her relationship with her late father.
