Throughout the week, our ACC Team searches through emails and news articles looking for someone who deserves to be the Kidde Hero of the Week…

This week, a nine year-old Popular Bluff, Missouri, boy became a hero.

While in class his teacher Mrs. Kenser of Oak Grove Elementary had sudden asthma attack. She said that she was using the projector in class, and she didn’t realize she was allergic to the dry erase pen. She felt her throat start to close, and she could see the students were upset as they knew something was wrong, and all she could think of was getting to her desk to get her inhaler.

Well, nine year-old Brendon Garman came to the rescue! Mrs. Kenser fell to the floor, and she started to pass out. And, Brendon grabbed her inhaler from her purse and gave it to her, saving her life!

Brendon has autism, which can affect communication and social skills, but Brendon said that he knew what to do from seeing the movie Are We There Yet? And, Mrs. Kenser is proud of her student. And, after that event, Brendon said that watching TV isn’t so bad after all.

Kix’s Response:

Well, Brendon, great job, buddy! You’re a true hero for saving a life, and sometimes if it’s a good movie or program, you can learn a lot!
