The Song Remembers When: “Wanna Be That Song” – Brett Eldredge

Brett Eldredge had three number one songs off his album Illinois and the third release was called “Wanna Be That Song.”

Now, Brett says that he wanted to write a song that represented being somebody’s everything. And, he told the story of when he was about to take the stage in Kansas City, and his buddy Scooter Carusoe was with him at the show. And, Scooter was on the side of the stage as Brett was about to perform, and Brett told him the idea.

Well, several months later at a songwriting session with Ross Copperman, Scooter reminded Brett of that idea, and he threw out a few lines. And, Brett said that that song came together real fast and now it’s one of his favorites that he’s ever been a part of writing.
