Luke Bryan took “Rain Is A Good Thing” to the top of our countdown in the summer of 2010.
He co-wrote this with his buddy, songwriter Dallas Davidson. Luke said that he and Dallas had a saying that they’d used for years – “rain makes corn, and corn makes whiskey.” The two spent many days fishing, but whenever the rain would roll in and spoil their fishing trip, Luke said that they’d go back to that saying – “rain makes corn, and corn makes whiskey.” It’d make them feel better.
Well, that’s how the song got started. They decided to take that saying and put it on paper.
Being the son of a Georgia peanut farmer, Luke grew up knowing that, yeah, rain is a good thing. Here he is with this week’s “The Song Remembers When” – “Rain Is A Good Thing:”
