New trio Midland made a splash with their debut single “Drinkin’ Problem.” The song throws it back to the era of the vibrant ’70s and ’80s country music scene as more traditional sounds were ruling the airwaves. And, that’s not by accident… Midland cut their teeth on the Texas honky-tonk circuit inspired by the likes of Gary Stewart, Merle Haggard, and The Eagles.
In this episode of Kix TV, Midland’s Mark Wystrach, lead guitarist Jess Carson, and bass player Cameron Duddy hang with Kix in studio. They discuss the greatness of Merle Haggard and talk about the Texas music scene. Plus, they share how a request to re-record “Drinkin’ Problem” led to the group finding the right direction for their debut album, On the Rocks.
