Throughout the week, our ACC Team searches through emails and news articles looking for someone who deserves to be the Kidde Hero of the Week…

With all the devastation caused first by Hurricane Harvey, then by Irma, we’d like to spotlight a team of folks who came together to help pets effected by the storms. The Helen Woodward Animal Center in California contacted Southwest airlines and asked if they could donate a plane to transport a number of animals. The animal relief flight helped fly 64 shelter dogs from Houston to San Diego so that the shelters in Houston could make room for pets who were lost in the storms. And, Houston could then work on helping to reunite those animals with their families.

All of the folks involved have said there is no way this could have happened without the help of the airlines and their teams in Texas and California, the pet rescue, and the TSA.

We’re hearing stories like this all over the news. It’s great to see people from all over the country pitching in to help each other…and their pets!

It’s gonna be a long road to recovery…  We salute the heroes who have stepped up and are making a difference during this time of crisis. Well done, y’all!
