Throughout the week, our ACC Team searches through emails and news articles looking for someone who deserves to be the Kidde Hero of the Week…

This week’s honor goes to Staten Island postal worker Lisa Sweeney.

Lisa has delivered mail to a neighborhood in New York for 13 years. One day she noticed mail piling up outside 87 year-old Marie Boyers’ home, and she knew something wasn’t right. She immediately called 9-1-1.

The police and fire department arrived to break in to the home and found Marie on the floor in and out of consciousness but alive. Marie had fallen down and was unable to get help and had been there for four days!

Marie, who is now doing fine and living in assisted living, credits Lisa for saving her life! These two meet twice a week now and say they have a friendship unlike any other.

Kix’s Response:

So, Lisa Sweeny, you’re our Kidde Hero of the Week! And, it just goes to show you, if you see something out of the ordinary, say something!
