Throughout the week, our ACC Team searches through emails and news articles looking for someone who deserves to be the Kidde Hero of the Week…

Lindsey Matlock of Vernon, Arizona, wrote in to nominate her sister Ann. Lindsey writes:

Ann teaches middle school and junior high. In her 27 years in the classroom, she’s been awarded “Teacher of the Year” seven times!

This summer, she decided that what her town of Spirit Lake, Idaho, needed was a non-denominational Christian school. So, she obtained a classroom site, hired teachers, and started one. A dozen students are currently enrolled, and there’s already a waiting list for next year’s classes.

Excellent teachers are critical to the future success of our nation’s young people, and to the future success of our nation itself. I truly believe that Ann has given more than a thousand percent to make sure that her students are well-prepared for tomorrow!

Thanks so much for your time, and thanks for a great program – I LOVE American Country Countdown!!!

Sincerely,
Lindsey Matlock

Kix’s Response:

Well, thank you, Lindsey, and I could not agree more! Without teachers in this world, I don’t know where we’d be. I appreciate you writing in.
