Kix TV: Maren Morris

Before the release of her debut single, there was a lot of buzz about one of the new female singer-songwriters on the horizon. And, in the past three years, Maren Morris has more than lived up to the hype. Her first single, “My Church,” went on to become a Top 10 hit and win the Grammy for Best Country Solo Performance. Can we get a hallelujah?

On the strength of that song and Maren’s debut album Hero, the newcomer was named the CMA’s New Artist of Year (2016) and the ACM’s New Female Vocalist of the Year (2017). Plus, Maren earned spots on Keith Urban’s Ripcord World Tour, as well as Sam Hunt’s first major headlining tour. She also scored some impressive TV bookings from SNL to The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.

Now, Maren finds herself at her highest chart position as a solo artist with “I Could Use a Love Song,” hoping for a number one. As we wait to see what happens on the chart-front, we welcomed Maren into the studio for her first Kix TV visit.

In this conversation with Kix, Maren reflects on her growth as an artist and performer. And, she talks about experiencing the CMA Awards with her “Seeing Blind” duet partner Niall Horan. Plus, she goes in-depth about writing and releasing “Dear Hate” and its impact on her as well as her fans.
