Throughout the week, our ACC Team searches through emails and news articles looking for someone who deserves to be the Kidde Hero of the Week…

This week, Rob Robinson of Mississippi, reached out to share his story.

Rob is a turkey hunter and holds the Kansas record for the largest turkey at 26.5 pounds! The Mississippi native headed to Gil Alexander’s farm in Kansas to hunt all four types of turkeys, an elusive grand slam.

As he spent time on Gil’s land hunting turkey, the two developed a friendship, and Rob learned that Gil was in need of a kidney and Rob was happy to help. So, he donated a kidney to Gil, and now those two men are looking to build a lodge in Kansas and offer hunting trips to veterans and organ donors and recipients as a way of helping others and to spread organ donor awareness.

Kix’s Response:

Well, Rob, kudos to you for doing what you did and saving Gil’s life, and to both of you on bringing awareness to the importance of being an organ donor! You are both this week’s Kidde Heroes!
