We take you behind the scenes and explore the making of one of our favorite tunes with The Song Remembers When…
In 2011, Chris Young would reach number one for the fourth consecutive time with his song “Tomorrow.” It was the lead single off his album Neon, and Chris said that he had been wanting to write with his buddy Anthony Smith for a long time.
Anthony happened to be writing with Frank Meyers one morning so they invited Chris to get in on the writing session. Chris described that morning as a slow start until Frank said, “What about a song just called ‘Tomorrow?’” Frank admits that he actually came about that idea after hearing Gary Allan’s song called “Today.”
When their song was done, Chris said that he called the label and told them that this was going to be the first single. Well, the label agreed and it became his fourth number one.
