Throughout the week, our ACC Team searches through emails and news articles looking for someone who deserves to be the Kidde Hero of the Week…

Ashley Proszek, from Chewelah, Washington, sent us her Hero nomination. She listens to the Countdown on 93.7 The Mountain. Ashley writes:

Hello,

I’d like to nominate my father-in-law, Dennis Proszek, for this week’s Hero!

He was an EMT for over 20 years in our small rural town. He saw a lot of things no one wants to see, and all of his calls stuck with him.

The most memorable call, and probably his most favorite, was when he and his partner (my husband/his son) actually got to deliver a baby in the back of the ambulance. He said that it was a beautiful moment to help bring a life into the world since calls don’t usually go that way.

Dennis recently lost his battle to prostate cancer, and it’s been a hard road so far, but he will always be the hero in our house. We talk daily of Grandpa Dennis with our kids, and my heart swells when my son puts on his old EMT hat.

Thank you,
Ashley

Kix’s Response:

Well, thanks, Ashley! What a sweet memory to get to pass on to your kids. And, it sounds like he gave a lot; it sounds like he got a lot back from his job, too.

So, this week, our Hero is Dennis Proszek from Washington State.
