We take you behind the scenes and explore the making of one of our favorite tunes with The Song Remembers When…
Back in September of 2011, Jake Owen reached the top of the Billboard Country Airplay Chart for the first time. The song was “Barefoot Blue Jean Night,” and it would hold the top spot for two weeks.
Now, turns out it was the first song that Jake had released that he didn’t write. The song was written by Dylan Altman, Terry Sawchuk, and Eric Paslay. And, Eric felt the lyrics sounded like a summertime anthem.
Jake said that he’d been listening to the song on his computer for a while, and his girlfriend at the time told him if he didn’t record it he was an idiot – her words!!!
Jake knew it was gonna be a hit but he had no idea how big. That song became his biggest-selling record, going double platinum. Jake said that it wasn’t just a hit; it was a career record.
So, this week’s The Song Remembers When is Jake Owen and “Barefoot Blue Jean Night.”
