This week, our team is putting the spotlight on our teachers. With school now in session for many areas, teachers are back at work and have the task of teaching and influencing the future of this country – our kids.
Many of these dedicated men and women have to pay out an average of 500 dollars of their own money just to pay for school supplies to make sure their classroom has everything it needs for the year.
One woman named Stephanie White started a local Facebook group in her community in Kentucky. She created Five Dollar Fridays for the area schools. And, within 20 weeks, she had raised more than 35 hundred dollars for area schools!
Amanda Calpo at Norton Elementary, one of the recipients, said that the help was a dream come true and plans on paying it forward.
So, to all our teachers…You are our heroes!
Everyone has their own story about the lasting impression a teacher made on them as a child. You truly shape our future.
And, to people like Stephanie White up in Kentucky, thank you for giving back.
You are all this week’s Kidde Heroes!
