For our final podcast of the year, Kix, Suzanne, and Producer Lono talk about hunting, the CMA Awards, holiday plans, the top songs of 2018, and the National Finals Rodeo.
First up, Kix shares his recent adventures hunting in Louisiana with friends Randy Houser, singer-songwriter Shane Minor, and jazz musician Laurence Hobgood. And, he answers Suzanne and Lonnie’s many questions when it comes to hunting alligators.
Next, the trio share their reactions to last month’s CMA Awards. They talk about Keith Urban’s long overdue win in the Entertainer of the Year category and share some high praise for Ricky Skaggs’ impressive performance. Plus, they discuss the Single and Song of the Year sweep for “Broken Halos,” why Florida Georgia Line lack award wins despite their popularity, and this year’s many “fiery” performances. Plus, Suzanne pinpoints which duo she thinks will have a break out year in 2019 when it comes to awards.
With the holidays upon us, Kix looks ahead to the Brooks family Christmas puzzle. He also recalls the year he took the family on a cruise for Christmas and Sophie’s (the Brooks family’s cat) first and only trip to the farm. And, Lonnie shares his Christmas dream.
Finally, Kix, Suzanne, and Lonnie share their predictions for the biggest song of 2018. And, Suzanne talks about her upcoming trip to Las Vegas for the 2018 Wrangler National Finals Rodeo and shares the story about that one time Tuff Hedeman (four-time World Champion and ProRodeo Hall of Fame bull rider) convinced her to ride a steer.
